Ms. Barnes is a native of Baltimore, Maryland, but has been a resident of Carroll County, Maryland for 15 years. She received her law degree from the University of Maryland in 1995 having previously graduated from Hood College with her undergraduate degree.
Prior to the practice of Law, Ms. Barnes spent sixteen years doing immunological and genetic research primarily in the field of cancer.
Ms. Barnes was admitted to the Maryland State Bar and the U.S. District Court of Maryland Bar in 1995.
Her practice areas are family law, adoption, special education, and simple wills.
